The McDermott “Voyager” pool cue features a highly figured premium Birdseye maple forearm with a natural walnut stain; 6 Michigan maple, recon. ebony and recon. ivory “sword” points in the forearm; West African Ebony sleeve; 30 Michigan maple and recon. ivory inlays in the sleeve; and 8 German brass rings. 54 total inlays. This pool cue features the exclusive Impact Control Ring, made from a Polymer Matrix Composite (developed by NASA), which maximizes feel. The design is complemented by a top-grain, lizard-embossed black leather wrap and a Soft Durometer Polymer bumper, the most wear and shock resistant bumper in the industry. The cue features a fine weave linen-based Ivorine 3 hand glued and screwed ferrule, a Medium Hard Triangle leather tip, a 3/8 x 16 heavy gage stainless steel pin, and a stainless steel quick release joint. The 29” hand selected North American Hard Rock maple shaft has a 10” to 12” pro taper and is turned 11 times.
